"Listen earnestly to anything [your children] want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff." - Catherine M. Wallace

The Benton County Fair and Rodeo
Yesterday Jacob Emma and myself went to the Fair! It was Emma's first time and she had a blast! We visited the rabbit/chicken barn where Emma got so excited I'm pretty sure she peed herself. Next we went to see the pigs. Emma has seen pigs before but was way too young. She went NUTS! She was dancing around yelling "Pig Pig Pig"! Then it was the cows. I didn't think her excitement level could be any higher but man was I wrong. She walked along petting every cow that was laying down and going "Moo moo" while she did it. THEN, it was off to the sheep barn where yet again I didn't think she could get anymore excited. Wrong again! She walked right up to a sheep, looked at the owner of the sheep, pointed and yelled "SHEEEEEEEEEEEP!" "BAAAAA"! It was so funny! I'm pretty sure the whole barn heard our little one get excited over the sheep.
Our other visits were to a petting farm where Emma was able to pet a Donkey, Pony, and Calf. We also stopped by a local Dr.'s booth and Emma was given a toy monkey. We enjoyed strawberry lemonade, huckleberry ice cream and bbq pork sandwiches.
Next was the Rodeo which was a PRCA Rodeo. For those of you who don't have a clue why that's cool I will explain... it just means it's a professional rodeo. Not one of your hometown boys rodeos. Anyway, the excitement level for Emma I think reached it's maximum. She was cracking up at the Bareback Bronc riders and every other event. She was also dancing around all over the place while the music was playing. She entertained the bleachers where we were sitting. Emma's most enjoyed event was the Bull Riding (she's my daughter, what can I say). They had Mutton Bustin' too which is always cute to watch. There is just something about a 3 year old riding a Sheep.
Personally, I LOVE going to the Fair but most of all the Rodeo. It is such a rush to watch these men doing what they do. With the fair and rodeo season also comes the end of summer. We have had such a fun time this summer and intend to make every warm sunny day left count.

Jen... you're such a hick!!! Hahaha
Yeah... I know. Technically you are too though. I recall a certain barn mucking incident!
Oh, I loved that story! It helps that I have a 2-yr-old so I can totally envision every scenario, but you did a great job describing it. Emma is so precious! You two really make cute kids.
